Jill B Bruce

Jill B Bruce is an Australian author who has written over 63 non-fiction books about Australia, mostly for children. Some are information books, such as Flags and Emblems of Australia and Prime Ministers of Australia, but others are interactive fun books. These include Austranimals and Mixed up Monsters. Jill has also written two video scripts and eight blackline master books to help teachers plan their lessons.

Flags and Emblems of Australia is number 16 in the top 100 most stocked books in Australian libraries. Prime Ministers of Australia is number 34 in the top 100.

Jill was voted by the members of the Children’s Book Council of NSW as the 2012 and 2013 Children’s Book Awards judge. What an honour! In 2013 she was appointed as the judge for the Women Writers of NSW children’s book awards.

Jill’s latest exciting project is organising the small Australian titles she wrote for the Tibetan Community to be published as bilingual books in other community languages. So far they have been printed in German, Swedish, Italian, Arabic, Indonesian, Turkish and French with Japanese, Farsi, Spanish and hopefully Chinese on the way. The titles are Australian Kangaroo, Australian Koala, Australian Emu and Australian Platypus. They have been well received by our multicultural society.
